For ENBE assignment 2A, we needed to produce a infographic fold-out pamphlet about our hometown. This covers the history and background of the city, main accessibility, landmarks, zoning of the city and improvements that can be made.
"Taiping has been recognised as among the top three sustainable cities in the world."
PROCESS
Initially, Taiping wasn't the first choice for this hometown assignment because I did not live in Taiping for a long period. With the first progress check, I presented the whole of Bandar Kinrara. But after consulting my lecturer, Bandar Kinrara did not have much to talk about or write about compared to other places. So why not go back to my roots and go with Taiping.
Hate to admit but it was a tough time recalling some stuff . Kicking it off with some research about Taiping's rich history; being the one of the oldest city in Malaysia. Moving on with accessibility, this was quite easy as there were only a few ways to travel to Taiping and going around the town. Not to mention, there are many landmarks in Taiping and it is famous for having the "First 33 in Malaysia". Many visit Taiping to see its heritage sites and historical buildings that were build by British colonials.
However, zoning was the hard part of this assignment as I have never done zoning before. It was a fun yet frustrating experience as it took me awhile to understand how it worked and what I had to do. Finally, talking about my favourite place in Taiping was like a time machine, bringing me back to my childhood days. Taiping Lake Garden was, still and always will be a special place to me as I go there often with my family to do activities. As for improvements and changes, I hope more of the younger generation will stay in Taiping to help build the city up so that more will come to notice Taiping.
This is the finished assignment of my Taiping fold-out pamphlet!
