Building Construction and Materials
This module taught me about application of architectural and structural materials. How foundations and structures are built in order to support the building or how architecture materials contribute to the user's need for the building.

Assignment One

I picked Falling Water for this assignment and it has taught me a lot about each individual materials and their advantages and disadvantages. I also learnt about the thoughts that go into picking each material for the building and how the properties were kept into consideration. It has really gave me lots of knowledge about how architecture and structural elements come together and play a part in a building. For this assignment, I think I did alright for the boards and provided enough information and materials and enjoyed this assignment a lot.
Assignment Two
We were asked to pick a building and extract what are the architectural and structural materials used in the building we picked. We are also required to do a research on why the materials are chosen and what are the advantages and disadvantages of each materials and their properties too. We were also required to do some research on the history of the building and the architect themselves.
Construction Drawing
For our second assignment, it was integrated with our Studio II assignment 2, our design for the introspective pavilion. We had to present construction drawings which indicates dimensions, grid lines, section lines, detailed drawings for windows and doors and even sections of it. We were assigned into groups and we had to pick a person's pavilion to work on and fulfil the required drawings.

For this assignment, we had to make a lot of changes due to the pavilion we chose. We needed proper stairs and window placements. So we took some time to make these changes and manage to get approval from our lecturer. However, we had some issues with group mates and how the work was distributed. We had lack drawings and submitted lesser than the requirement. We hope that this wouldn't happen again. But overall, this assignment gave me and insight of how construction drawings should be and how they are different from architecture drawings.
