Studio II

Studio II was a roller coaster but thankfully with the guidance of Ms Alia and Ms Fadzwin, I managed to make it through the semester. This semester was about exploring spatial and sensorial experiences, diagramming our design principles and how we could carry out site analysis and the alternative uses of it. These can be seen in the assignments.

We were given a building to analyse their design principles and intention. Then we were required to produce orthographic drawings and diagrams to represent the building and present to our tutors.

In this assignment, we were required to design an Introspective Pavilion with 125m3. Bringing forward the things we learnt from the first assignment, we needed to further explore the spatial qualities and materiality for this assignment. We had to incorporate a full flight of stairs in our pavilion and it can be seen in the photos and drawings.

We were asked to design an atelier by the stream in Taman Wawasan Recreational Park, Puchong. We needed to correspond to the immediate tropical site context. It also needed to accommodate my dad and myself. Introducing the notion of space, form and function in relation to the user's needs and specific requirment.
