With this being our final drawing assignment, it is time to show what I have learnt throughout this semester. Putting the skills I've learnt to good use, I am required to draw out a mini chalet.
Site plan, Floor plan, Elevations and Sections. All these will test what I've learnt.

PROCESS
With this final assignment, we had to build and design a mini chalet on the site we were given in Janda Baik, Al-Sakinah Resort. We were given 2 days to measure everything, from site context to building elevation and even water levels for us. We were given one of the toughest spot in the resort, beside the river. But who wouldn't live for a challenge.
After the two days of measuring, we went back to KL and started off with our assignment, although we measured as a group, everyone is needed to produce their own drawings and design. The first two weeks of progress was okay as we are require to show her the site plan, floor plan and elevation drafts. Below are my drafts.
But as soon as the third and fourth week kicked in, time management was important and I didn't manage my time well with the other modules, resulting in bad progress for section and A2 drafts. To be honest, it was indeed disappointing to see a no progress on the report sheet. Couldn't do work for a few days, but I believe it is all part of the process. Crits are meant to be taken as a lesson, a comment that will help improve your next drawing.
With the last week, I planned my drawing time really tight, making sure I can finish everything in time. It wasn't the best work I could offer, but I am proud about it. The last task was to give a name for my chalet. I went with Villa de Rimba as chalets are usually in near nature and Rimba stands for jungles and nature. Peace and tranquility is often associated with nature and trees. I went ahead with this name knowing it was the best for me chalet. At the end, I manage to produce all the drawings and even 4 elevations.
My final drawings of Villa de Rimba!
