With this being our first ever CTS assignment, we were tasked with 'idea-ing' our proust questionnaire answers and putting them on or in the milk carton.
AMAZINGGGGGGGG! - Mr Charles 2019
PROCESS
I started off by answering the 35 questions in the questionnaire but ended up needing to pick only 20 questions that stood out. Picking the questions weren't easy because not only do I have to visualise the way I want to portrait it into the carton but also having to think about the difficulty of doing it.
At the end, I went with a dystopian theme for my carton city. Mainly inspired by my fears of death, losing people and the average daily fears like height. A burnt building shows that there are things in life where we have to burn down in order to build it up stronger again. Even the couple sitting on the carton cap, signifies the lack of loyalty and honesty between them, which is what we tend to look for in another partner nowadays.
The cotton was an extra touch making it snowy or cloudy as my dream place to live in as somewhere cold with snow such as Japan or Korea. There are many more smaller details with deeper meaning behind it but when seeing it, you won't get to know much. Only because people only touch the surface of matters and situation, judging before getting to know what truly is behind the situation. Asking solves all the miscommunication and hence getting to know things better.
"Don't judge a book by its cover."
The final design of my milk carton city!
